I’m Denise, the founder of Seventh Wave Therapy.

I am a therapeutic coach and psychotherapist whose prior, first-hand insights into corporate cultures and the behaviour of individuals and groups in the workplace are brought into everything we do at Seventh Wave Therapy.

Before this I was an HR Director in the corporate world. I wanted to make a difference to people’s experience at work and cared deeply about doing a good job, learning from those around me and enabling others to reach their potential.

Working in complex global organisations from early start-up to high growth environments, I operated in the heart of organisational performance, culture and leadership. Simply put, I led the creation, design, development and implementation of all things people. Coaching was an integral part of my job, working with executives and senior leadership for almost 20 years.

In doing so, I learnt the importance of emotional intelligence and communication. I witnessed the impact of functional and dysfunctional organisations on individual emotional and mental wellbeing: experiencing and observing what inner turmoil can feel like and outer turmoil looks like.

I realised the limitations of my HR role in understanding and working with these issues and decided to study and train to become a psychotherapist while continuing to work as an HR Director. It meant opening up my own psychotherapeutic journey and experiencing the immense benefits this can bring to others who may never ordinarily consider a talking therapy.

Fortunately, my interests and strengths from my HR career are valuable assets to my therapeutic work with individuals and organisations. The common thread in my professional career is to support and enable people to seek, find and fulfil their unique personal and professional potential

I thoroughly enjoyed my therapeutic coaching sessions with Denise.
Her unique style which marries psychotherapy with occupational therapy made the sessions more engaging, more personal and yielded really impactful results. I was inspired by her warm and energetic style, the time she took to get to know me and my organisation, the depth with which we went through the psychometric test results and the positive differences I have been able to make as a result of our work together. I feel it has made a real difference in my professional life and I would highly recommend Denise to other professionals seeking a great way to advance their careers and development.

I recommend Denise and her services wholeheartedly – her quiet integrity was there with me every step of the way over the course of my transition. Anyone going through a redundancy needs to work with someone who really cares about what you’re going through, relates to it and can provide a therapeutic element to the coaching. I hope more professionals like me are offered an outplacement service like this in the future. I found it to be a positive and productive experience overall, which most importantly removed my heavy burden of guilt and feeling like a failure by readying me for the sharper road ahead. Unexpectedly I also think I became more understanding and empathetic along the way.
