We offer online psychotherapy sessions via a secure online platform. This offers greater flexibility with session scheduling and we find our clients are often more relaxed and ready to engage in sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

We recommend for these online sessions that you select a comfortable setting where you will be undisturbed and return to this location for the times that we work together. Having a dedicated and consistent therapeutic space offers valuable familiarity and comfort.

In-person sessions may be arranged on an individual basis, dependent on location. We currently offer them in the Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire area and Central London for our partner organisations.

The initial session is a standalone preliminary chat to get an understanding of your needs. It’s the time we discover how we, as therapist and client, can work together.

In the session, you will have the opportunity to share what is at the forefront of your mind, what you would like to work on and your best hopes. It is also an opportunity for you to learn about your therapist and consider how comfortable you feel with them. This is also the time for your therapist to consider if they are best placed to work with you and if this therapeutic intervention is best suited for your needs.

Should there be a sense that the therapist isn’t the right fit for you this will be discussed and we’ll, where possible, suggest referrals. Having taken the decision to work together, an outline for the framework of therapy will be shared and a client contract, including scheduling considerations, will be drawn up.

During this initial meeting, we’ll agree a fixed number of sessions – agreeing their focus or review date. Thereafter, we can work on an open-ended framework as required.

Your confidence is us is paramount and all sessions are confidential and provide a safe space to explore and discuss difficult issues with a trained professional who’ll really listen to you with unconditional regard. The only exception to this is that we are legally required to disclose information when there is a clear intention to harm other people and/or yourself.

All personal information is kept secure in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

We abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling.

I thoroughly enjoyed my therapeutic coaching sessions with Denise.
Her unique style which marries psychotherapy with occupational therapy made the sessions more engaging, more personal and yielded really impactful results. I was inspired by her warm and energetic style, the time she took to get to know me and my organisation, the depth with which we went through the psychometric test results and the positive differences I have been able to make as a result of our work together. I feel it has made a real difference in my professional life and I would highly recommend Denise to other professionals seeking a great way to advance their careers and development.

I recommend Denise and her services wholeheartedly – her quiet integrity was there with me every step of the way over the course of my transition. Anyone going through a redundancy needs to work with someone who really cares about what you’re going through, relates to it and can provide a therapeutic element to the coaching. I hope more professionals like me are offered an outplacement service like this in the future. I found it to be a positive and productive experience overall, which most importantly removed my heavy burden of guilt and feeling like a failure by readying me for the sharper road ahead. Unexpectedly I also think I became more understanding and empathetic along the way.
